Why these

Chosen the way we'd choose for ourselves

Every piece is photographed on a real person, in the shade it actually arrives in.

Cotton first

Breathable enough for a Chennai afternoon and soft enough to sit in all day. It creases a little — that's cotton doing its job, not a flaw in the piece.

Prints we pick ourselves

Buti florals, bandhani dots, scalloped jaal. We buy in short lengths, so shades shift slightly between runs and no two batches look identical.

Cut to be worn twice a week

Room through the arm and the hip, necklines that stay put, and lengths that work over jeans as easily as over palazzo.

Finding your size

Measure once, then order in ten seconds

Lay flat a kurti you already like and compare it to this table — far more reliable than measuring yourself. All figures are the garment in inches, with about two inches of ease built in.

Between two sizes? Take the larger one. These are cut straight through the hip, and the smaller size will pull at the armhole first.

Caring for it

  • Wash separately the first time, in cold water — block-print dyes bleed a little at the start.
  • Hand wash, or machine on the gentlest cycle inside a mesh bag.
  • Dry in shade. Direct sun will pull the colour out within a season.
  • Iron on low, on the reverse side.
